A warm July morning finds the ML, MRL's Missoula to Laurel freight, descending the east slope of Mullan Pass over Skyline Trestle, referred to as "Austin Gulch" on track charts.

The crew for the afternoon's westbound Laurel to Missoula manifest heads down the lead to their awaiting train just minutes after a pre-summer thunderstorm soaked the area.
